We graduated 9 Journey students this spring. Read a quick quote of how this program impacted their life below!
Joanna - I got out of my comfort zone, experienced God in a real way, got more comfortable leading, and realized that I need community in my life...Journey is what I needed in my life that I thought I didn't need.
Timon - I got a lot stronger in my faith through Journey. I spend more time with God and I see the fruit from that.
Simeon - The 8 months I spent at Journey have been hard and long, but I have seen myself grow in my faith, my relationships with people I lived with for the duration of the program, and expressing my need and emotion when it got tough. Now I see how much the Lord has really moved through me in this time because it was a baller of a time.
Benjamin - I grew greatly in my relational maturity with both other people and the Lord. I grew in my ability to be in community and relationships with others and in my ability to be welcoming and gracious toward them. I grew in my love for God and in recognizing His love for me. I grew in my self awareness, in recognizing areas in myself that I either need to work on or build up....I am so grateful.
Benjamin - Journey has changed my perspective on life and look towards God and what He wants for me. I have always looked at the Bible as a rule book for what I am and am not supposed to do. I now look at my walk with God as a personal relationship with Him and it is completely different from anyone else’s walk with Him.
Joshua - It has been a time to slow down and focus on my walk with God and how I’m deeply loved by Him and He desires to be with me and to do that in a community of others doing the same.
Taryn - Journey gave me the physical, spiritual, and mental reset that I needed in my life. I gained a community that I know I can always turn to for support.
Daniel - I came into Journey expecting and wanting it to be a time of rest and a break from regular everyday life. It was that, but it was also so much more. It would be more accurate to say that it was a period of new beginnings, because I’m not going back to the same old regular everyday life after this. I’m stepping into something new, something exciting, something that will have been shaped by who I was made to be at Journey. So yes, I might go back to the same friends, family, people, and places that I had before Bighorn. I will step back into “everyday” life. But it won’t be the same. Because Journey shaped who I am as an individual grounded in Christ and showed me that everyday life is nothing short of extraordinary when lived with him.
Juliana - This year has reminded me to give control back to God...These past 8 months of constant adventures in the wilderness, each with their plot twists and turns, has taught me how to be okay with unanswered questions and unknown outcomes. I learned how to solve conflict and how to love and understand so many different kinds of people. I’ve become more bold in my faith, leadership and identity.
Summer Prep
While we have been preparing for summer since, well, last summer, it officially begins after Memorial Day! We will have three weeks of training before camps begin. As you think of us, please pray for those training weeks--for safety, for strong leaders to arise among the summer staff, and for God to work through each of us!
