Specialty Camp

Camp Bighorn Specialty Camps are designed to give a more advanced level of adventure to those who are ready for the challenge, with each camp focusing specifically on a particular skill. Facilitated by experienced staff members, these camps take the intensity up a notch, enabling campers to gain confidence in the skill they are learning and leading them through environments where God will uniquely work in each of their lives. Specialty camps are generally geared towards age 13 and older.


Rafting CampImagine yourself with a group of friends spending several days together on the Lower Salmon River, which is full of fun rapids, sandy beaches, and beautiful views. You will loearn some of the skills necessary for a river trip, including guiding, reading the river, setting up camp, cooking, and shelter building.


Rock Climbing CampRock climbing at its best! After belay school and learning basic equipment safety, we'll spend four days climbing the shale/slate routes on site, then tackle the local favorites like Stonehill and Chimney Rock. You'll learn basic skills and be introduced to top-rope climbs and anchor building. Come ready to have fun climbing by day and sleeping under the stars by night.


Mountain Biking CampCome enjoy the thrill of mountain biking on the trails of Western Montana. Not only will you be riding some amazing trails and developing your biking skills, you'll also be learning the basics of bike repair and trail building so you can enjoy this sport year round. We have some mountain bike fanatics on staff that are eager to take you for the ride of your life!


Kayak CampWhether you're a first-timer or a confident boater, join us for a whitewater adventure in kayaks. ACA certified instructors will lead you through 4 days of kayaking and introduce you to several Montana rivers. Come join the whitewater excitement.


Wilderness Adventure CampWilderness Adventure camps are a great way to get a taste of several different adventure activities at a more intense level than our normal on-site adventure camps. You will rock climb on multi-pitch routes, backpack and mountain bike on the state line trail, and raft the wild rapids of the Alberton Gorge. If you have a hunger for adventure and a longing for variety this is the camp for you.


Canoe CampCanoe Camp is a lower intensity camp which, while teaching campers the basics in guiding, reading the river and paddling, spends time relaxing the enjoying the beauty of God's creation and the fellowship of His people from the seat of the canoe.
