The mission of Camp Bighorn is to create an environment conducive to the work of the Holy Spirit so that those involved in the life of the camp, either as a staff or camper, will be impacted by the gospel of Jesus and be encouraged and trained to be a Kingdom leader.
The tools Bighorn uses to train men and women for living out the faith in a real way include mountain biking, kayaking, white water rafting, rock climbing, challenge course, and mountain climbing. They create environments that support growth in faith and trust in God through the challenges and tasks they face, the processes they go through, and the small groups and community in which they are involved.
Bighorn purposefully creates and leads their campers through situations that have unknown outcomes and allows both staff and campers to face challenges and make decisions that facilitate the asking of questions normally disregarded or never dealt with, and encourages them to process what they are experiencing, so as to begin the life long process of seeking out answers.
Through an involvement and interaction with the various facets of Bighorn, the focus of the ministry is on the individual biblical response required of a Christian and the carrying out of his or her responsibility to God and others.
